Glass Variable Flow Meters
The LG series are our low cost miniature Glass Tube VA flowmeters for surface panel mounting where small size is important. The RGTF glass flow tubes have 30mm scale length and have standard scales for air. Easy to use, high visibility scale, Simple and reliable.
The NG series are our low cost frames for the standard 100mm scale glass tubes. Ideal for panel mounting, the NG series are supplied with mounting studs and a rear facing exhaust vent to safely exhaust process fluid should a tube fail. Models can have rear facing or in-line process connections and the NGV units have a built in needle valve for flow control. Float and scale visibility is improved through the use of a clear polycarbonate cover set against a white background.
The GU series Glass VA flowmeters safety housed construction provides a rigid protective structure around the flow tube, to allow installation in unsupported pipework or to provide extra protection to operators on high pressure or corrosive applications. The tube and float is viewed through a solid Perspex window.
Glass Tube and Float
The Platon range of Borosilicate Glass flowmeters are based on the well known Variable Area principle of flow measurement. Using various combinations of tubes and floats, thirteen standard gas, and seven liquid sizes are available with scales to suit the application. All tubes are flow tested prior to scale placement, which is fused into the glass to provide clear and long lasting visibility.
Plastic Variable Flow Meters
Plastic moulded VA flowmeter with 50mm scale and rear facing connections. Suitable for flush panel or surface mounting, with or without flow control valve, for air or water ranges.
Variable area flowmeters for higher flowrates in 1/2" and 1" pipes, using plastic TPX tubes and Stainless steel or Dural floats. Light open construction with good float visibility.
PG Safety Housed
Plastic tube flowmeters in rugged safety housings suitable for unsupported installation in process pipework. Perspex cover retains easy readability but protects operator.
All plastic construction variable area flowmeters providing excellent chemical resistance and readability, supplied complete with end connections, either for solvent welding to PVC pipe or threaded. Up to three bi-stable alarms can be fitted to each unit or if required, a 4 to 20mA transmitter is available.

For monitoring low flow rates of high pressure liquids or gases, or where glass tubes are not suitable, purgemeters are Stainless steel in construction with a magnetically coupled pointer. they provide direct flow indication and can be fitted with flow control valves.

GMT Metal Tube Flow Indicator
Platon GMT metal tube flowmeters are magnetically coupled VA meters for gasses. Requiring no external power they are robustly constructed for heavy duty, with flanged connections on 1⁄2" to 4" line sizes, and screwed BSP connections on 1⁄2", 1" & 2" units. Within the tapered flow tube, fluid flow lifts the metering element, which contains a magnet. The external pointer follows the magnetic field and indicates flow against a clear 150th scale. Standard units are calibrated for air or water, but scales can be produced to suit other fluids and process conditions.

SGUV Shunt Orifice Flowmeter
Shunt orifice Flowmeters are direct reading flow measurement systems for clean liquids and gases in pipes from 1 1/4" to 24" diameter. By introducing a standard sharp edge orifice plate between flanges on the line, a proportion of the main flow is diverted around the external pipework, through a locally mounted specially calibrated VA meter. The flow through this shunt meter is linearly related to the line flow and is read directly on a linear scale.
