8427 • HI 931001 - Precision
Simulators for pH and mV Meters
HI 8427 is designed specifically
to simulate pH & ORP electrodes
and to confirm proper functioning
of your meter. Standard pH electrode
ranges are selectable with a dial
on the front panel. The pH range
is pH 0, pH 2, pH 4, pH 7, pH 10,
pH 12 and pH 14 with the mV range
being -1900 mV, -350 mV, +350 mV
and +1900 mV. Manual temperature
compensation from 0 to 50°C
(32 to 122°F) allows temperature
simulation. Provided with a universal
BNC connector, this unit is also
a high impedance tester, for cable
and connector inspection with a
leakage sensitivity of 109 ohm.
The unique tester is a "one
of a kind" in the industry
that eliminates the need for very
expensive megaohm meters. It is
sometimes difficult to work out
whether a particular malfunction
is due to the meter or the electrode.
If you have been in this position,
the HANNA instruments® precision
HI 931001 pH/ORP electrode simulator
is the perfect solution for you.
By simply connecting HI 931001 to
your meter's input socket and turning
the dials, pH readings can be simulated
from 0 to 14 pH in 0.01 steps. The
output signals all correspond to
pH values at 25°C and your pH
meter should display the same values
that can be seen on the simulators
LCD. For the mV range, HI 931001
can simulate output from -1000 to
+1000 mV in 1 mV steps.

pHep® 5 - Waterproof pH Testers
with Replaceable Electrode
When HANNA instruments® introduced
it’s first version of the pHep®
(pH electronic paper) in 1986, it
immediately revolutionized the standard
in pH measurement. The pHep®’s
ease-of-use in combination with its
affordability made it possible for
non-technical and technical personnel
alike to measure pH on the spot, accurately
and inexpensively throughout a variety
of industries. Since its introduction,
over 1 million pHep®s have gone
to satisfied customers around the
world. We at HANNA instruments®
have always valued the comments and
suggestions coming from our customers.
For this series, we have included
all of the features you have asked
for and more! The pHep®4 and pHep®5
include features such as a dual-level
LCD, battery level indicator, replaceable
pH electrode cartridge, instability
indicator, automatic shut-off and
automatic calibration all in a floating,
waterproof casing.
HI 98127 (pHep®4) is supplied complete with protective cap, electrode removal tool, batteries and instructions. HI 98128 (pHep®5) is supplied complete with protective cap, electrode removal tool, batteries and instructions.

Chemical
Test Kits for pH Measurement
The pH value of water is related
to a large number of dissolved substances
and is therefore a good indicator
of water quality. In applications
where water is treated chemically,
the pH value should be measured
continuously. In chemical reactions,
the solids present in wastewater
precipitate and the water is neutralized
and decontaminated. During these
reactions, the pH must be kept at
the right value, since a solution
that is too acid or alkaline may
interfere with the precipitation
of solids and will influence the
efficiency of the process. HANNA
instruments®’ line of
chemical test kits covers the pH
range between 3 and 10. The colorimetric
pH kits are also available with
an additional reagent against chlorine
interference.
